AI Interaction Policy

NPCGo!! uses artificial intelligence to power the dialogue and behaviour of in-game non-player characters (NPCs). This policy explains how our AI works, what you can expect from it, and the rules that govern player interactions with AI-driven characters.

1. How Our AI Works

NPC responses are generated in real-time by large language models (LLMs). Each NPC is given a unique character profile — including personality, backstory, faction, secrets, and mood — which the AI uses to produce contextually appropriate, in-character dialogue. The AI does not have internet access, cannot contact you outside the app, and has no persistent memory beyond your current session unless stored as part of your relationship history.

2. Fictional Nature of AI Content

All NPC dialogue is fictional. NPCs are characters in a game — they are not real people, and their statements should not be interpreted as factual, professional, or authoritative. Specifically:

• NPCs do not provide legal, medical, financial, or psychological advice.
• NPC "secrets" and "lore" are narrative fiction, not real-world information.
• NPC opinions and statements do not represent the views of NPCGo!!.

3. AI Limitations

AI-generated dialogue may occasionally be inconsistent with previous responses, unexpected in tone, or repetitive. We continually refine our NPC prompts and guardrails. If you encounter a response that feels significantly inappropriate, please use the in-app report function.

4. Prohibited Player Inputs

When interacting with NPCs, you must not attempt to:

• Jailbreak or manipulate the AI into producing harmful, offensive, or out-of-character content.
• Extract real-world sensitive information by tricking the AI under a fictional guise.
• Harass or abuse NPCs with targeted hateful, violent, or sexual content.
• Make NPCs impersonate real, identifiable individuals.
• Redistribute AI conversations outside the app without permission.

Violations may result in account suspension or permanent banning.

5. Content Guardrails

Our AI systems are instructed to refuse content that promotes real-world violence, self-harm, illegal activity, explicit sexual content, or hatred toward any group — regardless of player input framing.

6. Data Handling for AI Interactions

Your messages to NPCs are sent to third-party LLM providers (currently OpenAI) for processing. These providers operate under their own usage and privacy policies. We do not use your NPC conversations for advertising or sell them to third parties. Conversations may be reviewed by our team in anonymised form for quality assurance and safety monitoring.

7. AI and Minors

NPCGo!! is intended for users 13 and over. Our AI systems are configured to reject adult themes. If you believe a minor is being exposed to inappropriate AI content, contact us at safety@npcgo.app immediately.

8. Reporting Harmful AI Output

If an NPC produces a response that you believe is harmful or inappropriate, please report it using the menu in the NPC chat screen. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
